I often get cramps in my feet, what could this mean?!

Question: I began getting cramps in my feet which usually started after I got off work at 5 pm. I recall having to pull over and stopping the car because of it. After I stopped wearing heels (gave them all away to Goodwill), those foot cramps stopped. In retrospect, it was probably flat feet which I did not have diagnosed then.

I asked a lot of people, read whatever I could get my hands on determined to stop them if I could. Still from time to time, especially while in bed, I got cramps in my legs (sometimes involving my feet) and so I started eating foods high in potassium, taking multi vitamin and calcium pills and shooting for the 8 glasses of water per day. Now the cramps are less frequent.- but I still don't know what changed or helped.

Oh, I do have flat-feet and have worn orthotics for that since. I know that helps a lot but does not prevent new episodes of leg cramps.

Part of my problem is my age and poor circulation I think.

Where in you feet?

Try to get the weight balanced on your shoes, and work up to a faster pace if you're a jogger/runner. Also--STRETCH. I can't emphasis how important it is to stretch properly.

Also try to get shoes with decent arch support.

feet f u c k

Not enough potassium....eat more bananas....

it may be your shoes. try something with a higher heal.
also. if you have blankets or things at the end of your bed when your sleeping they could be putting to much pressure on your feet. thats what use to happen to me.

it could be a sign of lack of potasium. try eating bananas. if that doesn't work ask a doctor.

Drink more milk. Thats what I do when I get unexplained cramps.

Calcium, it seems, may help the nerves transmit signals to muscles.

Are you awake, Or asleep?
Or trying to sleep.

Eat some Potassium products,

Eat more bananas. Potassium helps lessen cramps.

I believe they call it Gout? not sure if thats the correct spelling, though.

Maybe Plantar Fascitis.....

Google it & check out the symptoms, see a doctor
