Depends on what the gooey stuff is. You are doing the right thing by putting neosporin on it. The question I have is does the fluid coming out of the wound have any colors or odor? If so, most likely there is an infection. Another thing you might want to try is taking an anti-inflammatory like trylenol or motrin to decrease the swelling and assist with pain relief.

If it persists, you should most likely go to the doctor to make sure you are in the clear.

of course you have an infection. You should have use some Povidone-Iodine solution but now you might need to see a doctor

Hello,

You are starting to have pus on it. You should go to a MD to have him take a look at it. You need to take some sort of antibiotic for it. You don't want to wait till it gets really swollen where the MD has to slice the skin open to get rid of the pus. Go see your doc right away.

Whether you have an infection or not, this should heal that up and help you to heal faster. Using a wash cloth, get it as soapy as you can with dial or safe guard. put it on your injury and let it soak for about 20 min, after rinsing and drying put a bandage with neosporin on it. Keep soaking it in this way as often as you think of it. Keep an eye out for the color green, and for a red line. One could be gangrene and the other blood poisoning. Then you will need a dr. immediately.
peace
