I just fractured my ankle or something with my tibia?!


Question: and i'm not supposed to put any weight on it. it's very hard to get up the steps, any ideas on how to make it easier. (i'm on crutches)

The way I used to do it was to have someone else bring up the crutches and I would use both hands on the railings and my good leg to lift myself up the stairs.

i know it sounds stupid but bum shuffling akes it much easier lol =] get better soon!

I crawled up the stairs, or faced the bottom, sat down and lifted myself up each step with my arms and good leg. Although this did look odd in public, so I stuck to lifts or just didn't bother with stairs! good lcuk!

the way they teach people with crutches to go up stairs is to to to the bottom or top of the stairs take a hold of the railing pref with the uninjured side. Take both crutches under the injured side. Lead off with the good leg and bring the crutches up next. Take your time. If you feel unsteady have some one spot you as you go up the stairs. Good luck and feel better
