Spider Bite?!

Question: I just noticed a bug bite a couple days ago, and since then it has swelled up a lot. It's very red and hurts to even the lightest touch. Should I be concerned about this or just wait until it goes away?

Yes, I'd say get it check out. Why?

Same thing happened to me back in October. I went to the doctor and got antibiotics, but it kept swelling and hurting. After a few days, blisters started forming around the bite. Then one night the pain woke me up. The blisters had fused together and I couldn't stand it any longer. I took a needle and dipped it in alcohol and stabbed it. I couldn't believe the stuff that came out. Still, I had to go back to the doctor because it wasn't getting any better, but at least it was draining. On the second doctor visit, the doctor had to lance it. She said that it could take months to heal. There's still a little knot there, but it isn't painful.

Again, yes, get it checked out. I wouldn't want to wish my experience on anyone, unless it was my ex.

go to the doctor because you never know what type or kind of spider bit you just have your self checked

I would definitely go to your doctor and have them take a look at it, or go to the ER. There are some nasty bugs out there, some that can cause permanent neurological damage (brown recluse, for example).

I don't want to scare you, but I'd go get it checked out asap. If no regular doctors know what it is, maybe try a dermatologist?

Do you know what kind of bug it was?

Better consult a doctor. There are certain bites which are serious too; since it appeared after couprle of days, please see a doctor.
