Son cut his hand...?!
Question: my 4 year old was using a steak knife to peel an orange for his sister and cut his hand.
it was bleeding pretty bad, but it seems OK now with a band-aid on it.
I dont have much experience with cuts... is there anything I should look out for? i assumed that as long as the bleeding was under control that the cut isn't too bad.

Look at the cut if it is where you can see into the skin or deeper he may need stitches. If not clean the cut inside and around it and apply a good antibiotic and a bandage to cover it. Keep it covered with the antibiotic on it for 2 days changing and cleaning it 2 times each day. then it will be ok to let the area air dry for a little time after taking the bandage off. about a week will heal it just fine.
put some neosporin on it to help it from getting infected
wash it out if u havent..it will kinda sting but its better than having it get infected and having to goto the doctor
keep it washed and covered, use neosporin.
just keep an eye on it, if you see it turning red or swollen, have it looked at.
You are right keep an eye on that bleeding.
you should keep it covered and if it looks like it bruised then see a doctor
