Otits Media is an infection of the inside of your ear.
You have an infection on the inside of your ear drum. Many people actually loose some hearing from the infections. Take the medication as ordered by your Physician and if it continues past 7 days go back. Did he give you any ear drops?
The fluttering sound is usually due to the stapes or the little drum stick being stuck in fluid or in your case probably pus.
As the pus decreases so will the aggravating noises.

Not sure...when I get an ear infection I can hear my heartbeat in my ear because of the swelling...maybe that's what it is...

Its probably fluid inside the inner ear which can't get out and is trapped. Try a decongestant along with an antibiotic to get your normal hearing back.

Consult a doc.

I have Nose, and Ear Problems. My Nose doesn't work. I can't smell. The Doctor's don't know why, except that I was born with it.. I take lots of allergy pills to keep my nose clear, and the sinus, often gives me ear aches, as well, as head aches.. I just got off a Flight, and I hear that sound. It's something to do with your ear drum I think. If it gets worse, go to a doctor. I wish you the Best!
