What does the pain clinic do?!
Question: I will be going to a pain clinic on the 28th and I'm not sure what they do there. Also what will my first visit there be like?

They are going to have you fill out a lot of paperwork and then by talking with you they will determine a plan to help manage your pain. It may be pain medications, PT, exercises. It is kind of like all the possible options for you are at one place. I've been involved in pain management through UCSD for 10 years and I am a believer in their help.
I've had two cervical spine operations so pain has been a big part of my life for over 10 years.

Sorry I cannot help you. My Physician deals with my pain and to date I have no complaints. However now and again I do have to make suggestions like: perhaps PT? I do not mind making the PT suggestions, but I have never made any drug suggestions as that is not my experience and I am not qualified. I am on the Fentanyl Patch which works for me. However again I assume much depends on reason for the pain, I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and Prolapsed Disc, but am still pretty active and hope to keep that mobility up. Perhaps after the 28th you can re-post and tell me what a Pain Clinic is all about? Good Luck
