I have some general questions about becoming a doctor?!

Question: For those that have any knowledge of this, I met someone who says they're a doctor, however some of the information I've been given sounds strange.

1. Would someone who's in their final year be transferred to another hospital, and the transfer wouldn't be by their own choice?
2. Would someone who doesn't actually have their license be making $250k/year? What if they knew they were going to be denied their license, would it be even stranger to be making that kind of money?
3. Would this same person be required to work ridiculously long hours, sometimes 24 to 30 hour shifts, only to have to go back after a 3 or 4 hour break? I would think they would need to get more rest.

Not being in the medical profession, I'm just looking for a little insight. Thanks for your time.

i guess your trying to check out someone's story. Well as doctors we do work up to 30hr shifts during residency. there are laws that prevent us from working too crazy, so should have good break between (ie more than 4hrs) before having to be back on shift( like 12hr). If no license we make between 40-50 thousand in your residency years. there are rarely any doc that make 250,ooo$ unless specialized like neurosurgery. It could be that the person is being transferred to another hospital, it depends on what specialty they are trying to go into or if there is a problem with their program like funding or something.

well good luck.

In their final year of what? Residency? If they are in they're residency, there is no way they are making $250k/year. My best friend made $35k/year during her pediatric residency. Now as a pediatrician, she's making $120k. Her husband, an internist (Internal medicine), was making about 130 with the same office. He quit and went to work in the ER and is now being paid over $200k/year. He works 14 12-hour shifts per month.

Sorry, that's all I have to offer. But without much more info, I think your guy is probably lying.
