Why is it that whenever I touch my scar on my head I can feel.....?!

Question: like as if a line is being drawn from my scar to the back of my head? It doesn't hurt or anything, I can just feel it.

I've had it for 2 years, I got it by a strobe light falling on my head and I was meant to have stitches but I am petrified of needles so that didn't happen.

Why does it do that? I can't feel anything like it when I touch the rest of my head.

Oh, and this is where my scar is (you can't see it-I have a bad webcam) http://i17.tinypic.com/86ff606.jpg

I have a scar in about the same spot and I can feel it in another part of my head when I push on it. I imagine because there are tissues that run from where the scar is to where you feel it. I mean, it is the area that is covering the brain and there is a lot involved in protecting it.

EDIT: the place you have your scar is right near the supraorbital nerve which could explain a LOT.

Could be a tiny sliver of metal or a foreign body embedded under the skin which has been covered by scar tissue when it healed. Guess you didn't go and get it cleaned out out when it happened. Go and have an x-ray of it.

sorry about you being hurt. and i hear ya about stitchs. anywayz. you feel it when you touch it and it goes all the way to the back of your head because of scar tissue and maybe you was cut very slightly all the way back. itz like if you hit your elbow, your entire arm feels like it was hit, thatz because your nerves are all going through that one point.

Hi,

it might be because ..you have not gone fopr stictches and the skin formed over the scar must be really delicate .. that you feel the tissues running underneatth the tissue

Cheers

I`m sorry to hear of your injury. It seems that you have a scar similar to mine. I was sawing a tree down when a branch hit my head. Without seeing it, I would say that the scar tissue is a lot longer than you think. The next time you see your doctor, ask him if that`s so, or if there`s another explaination. And , being a girl, be happy that it doesn`t show. LUV
