I think i have swollen glands??!

Question: it really hurts to swallow, so obviously i'm hardly eating enough which in turn is making me feel worse. me ears feel like they're about to pop constantly and today my nose is all runny, but i don't know if this is related. i've got a really tickley cough, and all i've been doing is drinking about 4 litres of water a day and trying to eat when i can. paracetamol help me temproarily for about 2-3 hours, but i'm in a lot of pain. can anybody recommend anything to make them go away or at least go down a bit.
also when i sleep i wake up constantly sweating and it's really uncomfortable. please can somebody help me...!?

Definitely go to the doctor, because swollen glands (and the sweating, by the way) are the signs of infection -- whether it turns out to be viral or bacterial. If it's bacterial, you'll need antibiotics, so don't ignore it. MEANWHILE, for pain, etc., you can gargle with salt water, keep taking your pain reliever (per package directions), and maybe try a Halls or Ricola throat drop. Those usually have menthol or some other ingredient that soothes pain somewhat. Have chicken soup! I know that sounds corny, but it's easy to eat, and contains a lot of nutrients that would help you feel better faster; plus, it's warm and soothing, which is a benefit all on its own. Hope you feel better soon!

anti-biotics. Go to the doctor, you most likely have strep.

gargle with some warm salt water and take some nightime pain medication. see the doctor in the morning to prevent further suffering and worsening of your condition

Take your temperature. If you are running a fever, call your MD or DO. Sounds like a virus, but check it out with the professional medicals.
