Hernias during pregnancy?!
Question: I am currently 31 weeks pregnant and have a hernia in my groin. I had this hernia when i was pregnant last time and had it operated on as an emergency. Have an appointment with surgeon on mon to see what course of action he wants to take as he wanted to wait till i was at least 30 weeks before he decided what to do. I was hospitalised with this a couple of weeks ago. I am on bed rest at the mo and it is very painful. Has anyone had the same or got any advice? this would be much appreciated, thank you.

Whoah! Sorry to hear that! I didn't have surgery until afterwards, when it happened to me. But maybe it was where mine was. And it wasn't as painful. I can't imagine a doctor making you go that long in pain. It almost sounds dangerous, to be cutting off circulation to your intestines. But then again, I'm not a doctor. Ask for a second opinion. Find some doctor willing to give one to you. Especially if lying down doesn't help alleviate it. Bed rest is difficult enough through any pregnancy. Is the bed rest for the baby, or for your hernia?
I'd be curious to know.
