Help I'm having Stabbing Pains in My left temple?!

Question: About once or twice every day I'm having sharp intense pains located in my left temple, but never anywhere else. I'll be fine one minute and then the next I'm in extreme pain. They last about 30 seconds to a minute. I've tried to make a connection to what triggers these pains but they seem to come at random times. They started about two months ago and have intensified from the time they started. I haven't hit my head or had any trauma that may cause it and I'm worried that it may be something serious. I've seen my doctor, who could not figure out my problem, and am awaiting a referral to a Neurologist. If you could tell me anything that these pains might be caused by I would really be grateful.

I have been suffering from these pains for years. They started in my temple and then eventually moved to other places. I was eventually diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and also I have some other problems in my shoulders that the doctors think may be related to the pains as well. Since I have started my medication the pains have pretty much gone away. The doctors never really found out what was causing the pain and since the meds help and I have a lot more serious problems going on it was never fully investigated. I have found just a handful of other people who have these strange pains and their doctors have never been able to find the cause for them either.
I hope that your Neurologist finds the problem and can help you get relief. In the meantime, I can tell you that heat helps tremendously to ease that pain. I wish I could help more....Good luck :)

Sounds like referred pain coming from your neck or shoulder muscle. I recommend that you see a physical therapist to get this treated.

No idea at all, but have you tried completely stopping using the internet and a computer?

Staring at a screen for hours might give you headaches of one kind or another, and I know severe eye strain can cause headaches. I guess an eye test would be the first thing your doctor sends you for.
Hope the test results are good and it's nothing serious.
