Cut, red, and swollen eye? Please read on...?!

Question: The wind blew open my car door yesterday, and the corner hit the top of my closed eyelid. It bled some, but not excessively. Today, I woke up with a swollen and red eyelid. It's painful when touched or while blinking, especially at the corner of the eye. Vision is fine. Should I go to the doctor for this, or should I be okay? Thanks for all your advice!

Your eyes have very sensitive skin around them, particularly the eyelid where the skin is thinner. If there is a cut, keep it clean and take anti inflammatories to help with the swelling and pain. If its not going away in a few days or vision blurs/you start getting headaches then see your doctor asap.

You should go to the doctor, and hopefully he says that you dont need stitches.

sounds like a black eye,

use warm compress on it tonight,

DO NOT use peroxide

its swollen because you didn't use a COLD compress yesterday,

Advil should help with the pain and the swelling,

M

It sounds like it may be swollen. I'd personally err on the side of caution and check with the doctor, especially if it doesn't start to get better soon.
In the mean time, it may be good to put some ice on it to reduce the swelling.
I hope it gets better soon!

sounds painful go to a doctor to check it out
