See an orthopedic surgeon, if possible, one who specializes in sports medicine. An MRI of the painful knee would give lots of information about the cause of the pain.

First see your own Physician. He/She can examine you, perhaps order a X-ray and take it from their once they have the results. Good Luck

Yes I would start with your FP doctor..then you may be referred to an orthopedist, or a physiatrist...some FP docs have a sports medicine background too

first see ur general practitioner. if he/she thinks that it is something serious, he/she will most likely refer u to a orthopedist. if u do indeed need surgery, that would be preformed by an orthopedic surgeon.
See your general practitioner who will evaluate the situation. If it's bad enough, they will refer you to and orthopedist who will do what is necessary to fix the injury.
