Lidoderm for Sprains?!
Question: A while back, my doctor gave me some Lidoderm (topical lidocaine hydrochloride patches) to help with my coccyx pain. Well, I pulled a shoulder muscle this afternoon and I was wondering if I could use a patch to help relieve some of the pain. RICE has been helping, but with a 1 1/2 year old, it's hard to keep an ice pack/heating pad on it and rest. It's typically prescribed for shingles, but I was figuring since it's an anesthetic it would get to my strained muscle. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks ^.^

Comments at the following link seem to indicate that knee and other aches are helped using the patch so it should work.
