Question: on the palm side. it's not very big, and it's not growing. it feels pretty hard, and it only hurts when something's pressed up against it. any ideas?

Sounds like a ganglion. I used to work for a plastic surgeon (specialized in hand surgery ) - he used to tell me a simple way to get rid of it yourself is to hit it very hard with a book ! :) Its true that he said this - but I'm sure medical profession will recommend a number of other things like drainage with a needle or surgery, etc, etc... as with all advice on the internet, always check with your doctor !

warts are usually easily removed by a doctor. callouses go away with time.. just means you use that part of your hand a lot... makes the skin tough.
