$20,000 is enough to bury you. Are you talking about money until she's 18 or through college? Term life insurance has gotten very cheap because of competition on the internet. If she's young, I'd get at least $500,000.

That is not any where close to enough. You should have 8 to 10 times your annual salary.
$20K would barely pay for your funeral.
Unlike someone below, the insurance would need to provide for your daughter and replace your income until she is able to live on her own.

Life insurance is supposed to be able to take care of final expenses, like your burial and any debt you may have after you die. If you have a house or a car that you're paying payments on, or other bills, I'd add those up plus the cost of what you think you're funeral would be and that's the amount of money your life insurance should be.
Do you really think 20 G's is gonna take care of your daughter til she's 18?
