To former smokers, I'm trying to quit smoking...?!

Question: what suppliments have helped you in the past to get rid of the nicotine addiction? I can get past the situational urges, but the chemical dependancy is getting to me. Any suggestions?

It's been 1-1/2 years for me. My Dr. put me on Wellbutrin to stop smoking. It worked. Give it a try. I was a pack a day smoker too.
& I'll tell you....I feel soooo much better. No hacking cough in the morning, Food actually tastes better than when I smoked, I don't feel tired. (didn't think I was then) But more energy now. & of course you'll save a ton of money!
Just giving you some benefits to boost the quit!

Good luck! You can do it!!

P.S. I had tried cold turkey 3 or 4 times. It never lasted.

The no smoking aids will just tease you until you fail.
Cold turkey is the most effective, even if it's hard.
It's all about attitude.

I went to a kazillion smoking cessation programs, I'd cut back; nothing worked til I went cold turkey.

The chemical dependency lasts only 3 to 4 days; it's the psychological dependency that's the killer. I took a test & found that I had a very strong psychological dependency. I became a gum chewer; it helped.

Hang in there; I stopped smoking in 1989 after smoking about 2 pks a day for 25 years.

well my way was open heart surgery and i begged everyone that i knew that smoked to please quit because trust me i use to smoke three packs a day and i loved to smoke but that pain after my surgery if i had my life to do over i would not smoke ever never knowing what i would have to go through i promise that's a pain u will never forget and i hope to goodness will never have to go through again and so if u try to quit please do it will be worth it they stink they r nasty and they have no positive effect on your body. when u can't get a good breath u will wish u quit when u remember this answer I HOPE cause it ain't made up!!!!!!!

Try chewing tobacco. Nasty habit but better for you than smoking. I personally bite off cigars and chew them. Weird, but cheaper nicotine delivery system than cigs or snuff.

Of course, best just to quit altogether. Lots of ppl chew gum. The new prescription drugs might help you also. Might even cost less per day than cigs.

Good Luck
