I'm always tired and am constantly thirsty?!

Question: I'm not sure what these symptoms mean but I'm 17 (nearly 18) years old and over the last couple of weeks I'm always feeling tired (even if I sleep for 10+ hours). I always feel thirsty and am constantly drinking water.

Also almost everytime I stand up I feel dizzy and faint. This used to happen every now and then but now it happens most of the time I stand up after sitting on the sofa or getting out of bed.

Does anyone know what could be wrong?

get to your doctors as soon as possible it sounds like you have the first signs of diabetes
a mate of mine had the same symptoms and collapsed and had to be rushed to hospital

get checked for diabetes

Go to the doctor it could be a multitude of things such as stress, anxiety, diabetes etc.

Try getting a test for diabetes

Go to the doctors and ask to be tested - could be a whole heap of different things - might even just be a virus - get your self checked out to know for sure

visit to the Dr for you. it could be thyriod or even diabetes. both are eaily treated.

Your best seeing your doctor, it could be diabetes.

Get yourself checked out by your doctor. Tiredness and thirst can be a pointer to diabetes, but its probably nothing serious at all.

Could be diabetes, visit your doctor.

Lots of reasons, although I hate to say it, but these are classic signs of diabeties, so you should get an insulin check up. However, the tiredness thing is very common in the late teenage years. The dizziness could well be realted to a lack of dehydration. Drinking tea should relieve symptoms better than just water all day.

sounds like diabetes i would go to the doc asap, because even if its not something is wrong.

see a doctor, and he may want to check you for Diabetes

def signs of diabetes

Ask someone close to you if you snore loudly or appear to stop breathing during sleep.
I have sleep apnea and am always tired and thirsty.
Being overweight and having a large collar size is another thing that can help you to become a sufferer.
If any of this rings bells then see a doc, well see one anyway because you obviously have some sort of problem.
I'm having operation on 16th which hopefully will cure it.

Get to your docs and have a blood test done....could be diabetes.

Sounds like beginning stages of Type 2 Diabetes. Go get your sugar checked at the doctor, or if you have a friend that has a glucose monitor ask them to check it for you, if it's over 125 or so, then you need to go to the doctor.

you may be dehydrated but you should get a blood sugar test it may be an insulin problem...see your gp this week

You could be having too much sleep, your only supose to have 8 hours sleep, if you sleep more they do say you will feel alot more tiered and less energy, maybe cut your sleeping time down you maybe tiered at first but you will see the difference. I had this trouble but i started this new job which meant i had to get up at 7 am and i wasnt used to it but my bosy is ajusting to these early mornings and i actually feel so much better in my self. If i selpt in untill 10am i would feel rubbish but if i get up early i would feel rubbish for the first half an hour but i soon wake up properly and i honestly find i have more energy,

Those were my symptoms when I was diagnoses with diabetes. Along with always having to use the bathroom. (PEE). I also lost alot of weight.

sounds like you may be diabetic - your chemist should be able to do a quick pin pick test to your thumb to indicate this.

I would say there's a possibility of diabetes.
You need to get your GP to test your urine

DIABETES!
