A fully-comprehensive MRI looking for "nothing in particular" or for "anything unusual" will cost you FAR more than just buying even the most expensive Health Insurance. Think about it, in the real world a doctor orders an MRI to further investigate & diagnose a suspicion she has, if you are working without a suspicion, you have to study EVERY ASPECT of the scan to determine anything!

Plus if you pay for such a comprehensive scan, if they find anything you are screwed...you will no longer qualify for insurance on whatever it is because it will be a "pre-existing condition"!

You can't "beat the system"; if you have health concerns, go buy some health insurance then go see a doctor...

The cost of that a few years ago was about $600.00. Now it is probably more. Usually you need to have a reason to have an MRI.....but by paying cash, maybe you can convince a Dr. that you want one as a record for the future in your body changes and or any futrue problems.

It depends on which area of the body you are getting the MRI scan done to and if one or more areas are being scanned also. Im not sure if they charge more with or without contrast is being used. contrast is the dye they use to be able to see certain images.
