Where does blood in swellings go?!

Question: Because, I've seen boxers get the surroundings of their eye get cut to release the blood. In most cases of swelling that isn't convenient and is not regularly practiced to my knowledge. So if the blood cavity underneath the skin where does it go, it couldn't re-absorb into the veins right?

The loose skin in the area of the eyes and nose try to even out the swelling and it gets reabsorbed by the veins and or the smallest capillaries of lymph system. That is why if you get a black eye in one eye...the swelling and coloration eventually makes you look like you got raccoon eyes;the fluid tavels.

It's reabsorbed into the interstitial tissues.
