Stabbed myself below the knee by accident, medical professionals please help!?!

Question: Yesterday I was cutting some packaging and it slipped and I stabbed myself with a very sharp knife approx 2 inches below my kneecap in the shin. Luckily I stabbed where the bone was, because the bone prevented the knife from going very deep! It stopped bleeding roughly 40 minutes afterwards and is closed.

This morning I can barely walk! The wound doesn't hurt but the entire are from directly below my knee cap the right above the wound hurts really bad! I walk with a limp, and I have to keep it relatively straight otherwise my knee buckles in pain.

Is this going to get better? I feel like it will, but is there anything I could have damaged that is causing this? Or just the pain and swelling?

FYI, I was fine and able to walk the rest of the day yesterday, so it can't be damage I caused by the actual puncture, it must be the healing process.

Let me know what you think!

its just bruised and you must keep using it

Way to tough it out. If you've had your tetanus booster I think you need next to ask these three questions. 1) Could you have fractured your Tibia (shin), you won't really know unless you get an x-ray. 2) Have you severed any nerves? can you still feel all around the injure and in your extremities? 3) Have you severed or damaged any ligiments or tendons, do you have full range of motion or is there severe pain associated with a specific movement? I think if you answer yes to one of these questions you should see a doctor. By the way I have zero medical training.

xray to check for damage to the bone and ligaments, until then stay off of it, immobilize and put ice on it. And get your tetanus shot if you haven't already. Keep the wound clean and covered with a sterile bandage.
