i'm sorry to hear that your in pain but i think i can help.
my mum had the same thing one time. you most likely just slept on it wrong. get a towel and roll it up, put it behind your neck and hold each end on either side. put a fair bit of tension on the towel and put the side of the towel (opposite the side that is sore) on your cheek and hold it there, now slowely pull that side across, turning your head to the side that hurts. only go as far as you feel comfortable. then slowly move you head back to the centre again. if you continue doing this excercise, eventually you will be able to move your head further and further and your neck should get better.

put some menthol on it...like vicks or something and keep rubbing it and trying to move your head as much as possible......sorry i know that can be such a pain to have happen. hope you feel better soon.

Put a cold pack on it for about 15 minutes...then follow that with a warm or hot pack...alternate this out about 3 times. Just remember....start with cold and end with cold.

The cold helps swelling and inflammation...while heat helps with blood flow to carry away any toxins. The heat always feels better....but the cold is what stops the pain quicker.

it sounds like you just slept on it wrong, give it a few days before you rush and see the doctor, its probably will get better

if you sleep on your side, like i do, you'll always have an aching neck, unless you don't use a pillow.
