Hello Kevin, I am so sorry you are in such pain. Have you thought about physio or osteopath? It might help, otherwise get your GP to alter your medication. Ibrofen doesn't agree with everyone and it might just be that you need something else. You probably have some tendonitis also (inflamation of the surrouning tendons and muscles) If it goes on for too long, it is possible to have the shoulder manipulated under anaesthetic, but that is a lot further down the road. I think a change of analgesia will do the trick. Don't go on suffering, get back to your GP and tell him/her how much pain you are still suffering. Hope you feel better soon. Mel.

I get a trapped nerve in my hand alot, I just keep it warm and even though it hurts, I find massaging it helps. My hand tends to go numb after a while.

Had one 20 years ago.Was told to hang from the top of the door or beam and it could flirt out. It did the trick.

even though its painfull try exersize it get something like 2pound bag sand or somrthing and swing it .stand by wall and keep swinging the bag try get further up the wall each time thats what i was told to do and it did untrap the nerve after a while.good luck .carry on taking painkillers also

I've had that and even though it hurts try to rub it or get someone else to because it does work, have you tried one of those bean bag things (can't remember the name) you put them in the microwave to heat them up, you can get them from a chemist, i found they helped also.

Hi Kevin, I'm an Osteopath, for me the diagnosis of 'trapped nerve' doesnt hold a lot of water. All pain is pressure on a nerve, saying you've got a trapped nerve, is like saying you're 'in pain'
Sadly there are about 15 different reasons why you might have pain in your shoulder and I dont have enough info to go on, but one thing I regularly get my patients to do is use a tennis ball as a massage tool, either against the wall or on the floor.
Anywhere that it feels painful to press in your muscles needs to be massaged, you can do this with the ball, or with your own fingers.
Work on your chest (pectoral) muscles and on the muscles directly behind the shoulder, you might be suprised at how tender they are to pressure, dont be put off! Less than a minutes work into each area can pay dividends! you may need to work into the muscles surrounding the shoulder blade itself, or even on the bottom half of the shoulder blade, where reside the infamous 'trigger points' that can refer symptoms into the arm and hands. If it's too painful on the floor, put the ball into a sock, hang it over your shoulder and do it against the wall. Good luck!
