My uncle did when I was very young. It took him ages to get used to the feeling that he still had it.

Apparently amputees can feel a phantom limb. Probably very difficult to describe to some one who hasnt lost a limb though.

I think they can even feel like it itches!

I feel like a bad person as I went swimming and some bloke walked past didn't really pay much attention until I saw him struggling to put his stuff into a locker and he had taken his arm off! me like a prat said "do you need a hand"
