I know you will say "Go see my GP" but......?!

Question: Over the past week or so I have been having the occassional, pain in my upper part of my arm, in the joint more so, but can travel down to the elbow and above the wrist. Its very intermittent, but a bit sharpe when it happens, I am good health for 6O, follow a healthy diet (most of the time) packed up smoking 2O years ago, presently on a diet to look two stone, of which I am over weight. etc etc.,
Yeah I KNOW, go see my GP!!! I will, but just wondered if this is common.....?

No pain is really common; it's the body's first line of defense to alert us something is awry. Please see a doctor; it could be something from tennis elbow to bursitis; or it could be a harbinger of something cardiac. At our age, I'm 63; it's not really a good idea to ignore pain. Do you ever have shortness of breath or chest pain? Nausea, panic feeling, or feel clammy?

go 2 the doctors.

Might be frozen shoulder.

Its common, Ive had this on and off for several years, it could be arthritis, I have it in the hands and I am 10 years younger than you but there will be no harm in getting it checked out

Sounds like you could have a trapped nerve. If you have a lump in your armpit it could be more serious. I really think you should be checked out, call into your local walk-in centre there should be a "Nurse" who could advise you, or make an appointment to see your Doctor. ...Good Luck.

Sounds like the onset of rheumatism,or arthritis,
you may have pulled a ligament, possibly a "frozen joint".
Painkillers, rubbing oils and infra-red lamps all help-but you said it,ask your GP.
Sorry to say most of us get these aches and pains, especially this time of year.
