I think my husband has a broken nose??!

Question: I think DH has a broken nose. We got the bleeding stopped and it is only swelling a little bit at this point. His right cheekbone hurts to the touch and has a headache thru his sinuses up over his head. He is also complaining of dizziness. I am only worried about the dizziness. Is this normal??

You shouldn't be hitting your man like that! (just joking!)
Sounds like it could be, but either way, he should be seen by a doctor as soon as possible.

He could have a concussion.

Take him to the hospital.

I would go the emergency and get this checked as soon as possible

no. go to the doctor.

If it's broke, then it's probably normal. I would take him to the doctor.

I think you should send him to the hospital.

yes a broken nose is normal

No dizziness is not normal. If his broken nose was caused by blunt force trauma to the head it could be the symptom of a concussion. If he's fatigued, has irregular pupil dilation, and a sore head, he most likely has a concussion. I would seriously advise you going to a doctor sooner (like now) than later.

I agree with Stuart! Take him to the hospital to make sure nothing else is wrong.

Any injury to the face area could be serious. he really needs to go to the ER ASAP

he needs to go to the hospital. when my Ex was in the car accident his face hurt just like that and it turned out he not only broke his nose but his eye sockets as well

can your local "ask a nurse" and do what they say!

If his nose were broken, it would be very swollen, and most likely his eyes would also be blackened. It would probably also be deformed, meaning bent or a big bump at the bridge of the nose. I don't think from your description it is broken, but his headache and dizziness most likely means concussion - which is bascially a "brain bruise". If he is super tired, or slurs his speech as a result of the injury, you should get him to the emergency room. This would mean a serious concussion that should be treated and monitored by a doctor. If he just has a headache and localized pain, it should still be seen by a doc, but you could wait until morning to see your regular doctor.

Good luck and best wishes!

Shouldn't this be the sort of thing to see a DOCTOR about - rather than asking the smartasses here on Answers ;););););)

Take him to the Emergency Room as soon as possible. It could be a conncussion. I would keep ice on his face to keep the swelling down.

go to the ER! you will not regret it !

Put ice on his face 15 minutes on and then off for 15. Do not lay the ice directly on the skin as you don't need frostbite to complicate things. This is one of those instances where he really needs an x-ray to see what has broken. If you have a fracture of the nose you generally know it but the question arises as to wheteher he also did a number on his cheek bone and sinus. You didn't say if he hit a steering wheel , had a fight or took a fall. Since complications can arise when you are unsure of the extent of injury you need to take him in for a doctors evaluation.
