OK, here's what I did last time it happened to me. I got some ICY HOT medicine over the counter (or any pain relief medicine) and start rubbing at the spot where it hurts. It is painful, but it works. After rubbing it try moving your necks little by little. Do it like a exercise for an hour before you sleep. Then when you go to sleep, don't lay ou the side, sleep flat on your back. By morning comes around, you should feel a little better. If yes, repeat the process. If not, you might need to go to a professional for help.

if not better in a day or two, go to a doctor of chiropractic

you should first put ice then heat

I get that to!! I usually just massage it out and apply cream for muscle pain. You can also put something warm on it. For the pain take pain killers.

This sounds like torticollis or "wry neck" It is due to muscle spasms and can be treated with NSAIDS like Motrin and hot compresses.

my mom is a nurse and by her experience with her, i say you pulled something in your neck or slipped a disk. I really think you just pulled something because i had that the other day too and my mom said i just pulled something. She said to just relax it and ice it and lay down with my head elevated

Ice is best for pain. You might just have a stiff neck from sleeping on it wrong. Ive suffered from chronic leg pain for 2 years so I'm not very tolerant of people complaining. If it lasts for too long you should go to a health food store and get DL-Phenylalanine. Its a natural pain supplement that is compared to vicodin--in relief. Ive taken it and it works well. Ibuprofen is always good for inflammation. Hope it feels better.
