Do I sleep too much? Is there something wrong with me?!

Question: i went to bed at about 11pm last night and got up about half an hour ago, thats 13 hrs sleep and in fairness i could have carried on sleeping till about 2 if i didn't have to get up for work, i do sleep really late on the weekends.

I find it really hard to get our of bed in the morning, is there something wrong with me or am i just really lazy and do any of you lot sleep as much as me?

(once i'm awake i'm not tired all day ect only for the first hour or so...)

I'm almost 22 and find myself completing these kinds of marathons. I think it really does depend on age. But I found that the longer I sleep, the more tired I am! Too much of a good thing is bad!

That is defiantly no normal.

Do you not feel guilty for wasting so much time asleep.

Set an alarm and be more strict on yourself, but not at weekends of course.

Not necessarily - it depends on your age.

If you are really worried, talk to your doctor or practice nurse, or ring the NHS helpline - they can all advise what is normal, and if you are far enough away from normal to be concerned.

Sounds like Clymidia to me.

thats sounds like way too much

What age are you?
It's just that it has been proven that teenagers up to early 20's do require more sleep at this time of their lives.

I sleep a lot too.
12 hours isn't uncommon for me, plus a few naps throughout the day, and I'm almost always lethargic.
Too much sleep isn't good.
Either see your doctor, or avoid the booze.

Try going to sleep at 9pm or somethin. I go to sleep at 10pm and have to wake up at 7:00am. Try to wake up and go to sleep at a reasonably time. :)

If you see no reason or have no need to get out of bed then it's fine.

If you refused to get out of bed to go to work due to feeling like you couldnt cope with the day this suggests a anxiety/depression disorder.

I'd only be worried if you were sleeping this much and still feeling tired throughout the day. If it doesnt stop you doing what you want to do then sloth all you want!!

what you have is called s-a-d, thats the name for a condition that a vast majority of people suffer from. during the winter months this happens when you are not getting enough sunlight. you can buy a cheap sunlamp from a chemist for this condition and you can also take vitimin d which you get from sunlight and this might put the problem right
