I can't sleep and I'm also pregnant?!

Question: I've always had problems falling asleep at night. I begin to feel sleepy toward the evening and I'm really tired, but as soon as I climb into bed, I'm wide awake and can't fall asleep for several hours. So what are some suggestions for falling asleep?

I really need my sleep because I already have one child, and I'm pregnant w/No. 2 so I really need my rest.

I can't take sleeping pills, because of the pregnancy. And I don't really want to take any kind of meds.

Here are some really helpful guidelines...hope they work for ya :)

i think this is just a phase one goes through when pregnant...the person has different cravings and then your whole routine is distorted so dont worry its just because of pregnancy that your hormones are reacting differently....perhaps half a sleeping pill?dont overdose yourself but ofcourse rest is important

How long have you been expecting?

If you are more than 3 month, I suggest you could take walk exercises - just take 10 minutes to half an hour of walk for starters, and more if you already get the hang of it.. Wear comfortable shoes while you doing it of course..

Besides giving you enough exhaustion you need to get you asleep, walking exercise could do good for an expecting mom's metabolism and will help your build up your energy, stamina and lessen the pain by the time of your delivery...

Hope this helps and I wish you the best of luck in having a healthy child..
