HELP! Sleep problem - Someone woke me on purpose while I was drifting into light!

Question: OK, two nights ago, my girlfriend thought it would be funny to try and scare the life out of me as soon as I fell to sleep. I was really tired that night, fell to sleep, then as soon as I was drifting off and unconsious she made a really loud evil noise. I woke up in a state of shock and confused. When i tried to go back to sleep, I got about 10 minutes into drifting off, but as soon as I fell to sleep I woke up in a similar shock again, (like when you jump in your sleep). This happened every 10-15 minutes through the night, and I eventually got to sleep 5 hours later at 5am. Ive tried again tonight and the same thing is happening, I keep waking up jumping every 10 or so minutes. I've been really tired since 11pm and its now 3am and I still cant fall to sleep without jumping up again. Any one know what I can do to help this go away?

It sounds to be like a serious stress-related issue. I have insomnia and this is what I do...
Start preparing for sleep an hour before your ready for lights-out. Don't watch Tv or be infront of any screen. I would recommend reading a magazine or some other light reading that is very carefree and easy on your mind. Also, try drinking chamomile tea while doing so.
Then, when your ready for bed, do some light stretching, turn out the lights, THEN get in your bed. make sure your sleep posture is good. One of many good examples is to lie flat on your back without a pillow behind your head, and place that pillow underneath your knees. That puts me right to sleep and helps back pain too.
If you wake up during the night, get up from bed, do some floor stretches, get a glass of water, and go back. This should work very well.

take nyquill.
it will put you right to sleep.
really.

tell ur gf that when ur falling asleep make u feal good in a way u figure it out .

See a phyciatrist.. they can help a lot more than people lead you to beleive

you must be traumatized or something

thats creepy

anyway, when you fall asleep, focus on something you can think about, then fall asleep.

see what happens :)

take tylenol pm

Make her give you a massage. What the hell is her problem?

Thar is really funny!!! Maybe you should do the same thing to her. Then you will have someone to stay up with you.

try falling asleep with the tv or radio on, subconciously you will be focusing on that instead of the evil noise, hope it works for you!!

also, make sure your girlfriend doesn't get any sleep, that was a really nasty thing to do!!

You need to reset your sleep pattern and then yell at your friend. You can use a natural sleep aid that you can buy over the counter. It is called Melatonin and you can get it at CVS or Happy Harry or whomever for less than $10.00. Take it 45 mins before you want to go to bed, with a glass of water. Then lay down and read something and you'll go down. Do that for a few nights and then start every other night and then every 3rd night and then stop. You'll reset yourself.
