Does anyone ever have any of these type of migraines?!

Question: I have a condition that they call "Migrains". It first starts with my vision. It will go dark and very bright, like tunnel vision. Next my fingers will start to fall asleep and it will move all the way up my arm and to my face. It goes straight to my mouth, my lips will have the tingley sinsation as if they are asleep and then I lose who I am. People will ask me questions that i should know. Birthdate ssni# address Ph# and I can't answer and I don't know the answer to their questions. Every time I have to be rushed to the ER and I end up getting a shot to make it go away. They say that this is called a migraine but I don't recall ever having a headache with it?

Wow! I would get those when I was in my teens and 20's also. I thought for the longest time that I was the only person that had them until just a few years ago. I called them the "sparkles". I would get them about twice a week in my teens and 4 times a month in my 20's. I went to the doctors so many times. I had the cat scan, MRI, therapy, blood work, etc. done when I was about 15 and nothing was diagnosed. I did a bunch of reading on it over the years and it turned out that they are associated with migraine headaches and a hormone inbalance. It always seemed that when I would get them I noticed that my salt intake was low. I eventually learned to take a salt pill on the first onsight along with about 8 Asprins and lay down with a cold rag on my forehead in a quiet dark room. The sparkles would begin with a little sparkle in my direct vision and would progress with so many sparkles that I could not see where ever I would look. The sparkles would progress outward to my perifial vision. At that point, I could see where I would look but not look in my perifial vision. Then I would get tingles in my lower legs, feet, lower arms, fingers, fingertips, lips and tounge . After a while I would lose the feeling in those areas. Just on a few occasions I would lose the ability to talk and reason. Afte the sparkles, tingling and numbness was over with, I would get the worst migraine headache imaginable. So painful! All of it was so scary being in the dark not knowing what it was. I'm 30 now....I had one last year.

I also get "migraines" without the headache pain. I have discussed it with doctors and have determined mine are ocular migraines. I see the wavy lines on the outside of my vision area and spots in front of my eyes like a flash bulb just went off. It often lasts for 30 minutes or more. It is also more common when it is bright outside. A Coke or other cola seems to help or "headache relief" pain reliever. I don't know if it is close to what you are experiencing.

There are many web sites that talk about Ocular migraines. Maybe one will have your symptoms of numbness.
