Probiotics available in health food stores. Eat low fat, low sugar yogurt to provide additional healthy bacteria to your digestive system.

Buy ENZYME supplements and take as recommended on the package. Available in health food stores. These break down the fibers in foods that your body is not doing so successfully (hence your indigestion).

Try steaming your vegetables if raw vegs are hard to digest.

Add small amounts of psyllium powder to your diet. It helps to clean out putrid deposits from your bowels. Available in health food stores.

Avoid a high carbohydrate/sugar/processed food diet. This does not mean that you can't have carbs, just limit them, especially WHITE carbs. Choose whole grain products.

Stay hydrated. Digestion is heavily reliant on water consumption.

I suggest you go to the pharmacy and try either beano, or something I use which is called Acidphilous. My doctor told me to try it. It helps bulid up the number of bacteria in your intestines which help break down food.

Definitely try a pro-biotic (i.e. good bacteria to balance out the flora in your gut). Yakult is a good one or ask your pharmacist or health food store to recommend one.

peppermint tea is a fabulous home remedy for digestive problems including flatulence.

You should drink more water and take ginger as it is good for flatulence but your problem is most likely dietary. Possibly dairy products as most of us lack the enzyme to digest dairy properly also wheat can be a problem if you eat a lot of cereals or pastries or breads it can cause indigestion also. If the problem is dietary you should try spelt bread. You should talk to you doctor and he can advise you on what to do. Also citrus fruits are very bad as regards to indigestion so you are right to keep away from them.
