Why do people want to get a career in health?!

you are helping people
it pays really well
all the knowledge you'll know
people respect you because of your title
and the fact that people look to you for anwers
My fiancee is a nurse (RN) and she makes 70k a year. I imagine that others may genuinely want to help people, but money has got to be a big factor.
Two of the main reasons I can think of~~
1. To help their fellow man
2. The money
Because there can be great satisfaction in knowing you are helping others in a very intimate way. You can save lives and/or you are with families during the most difficult transition. It makes you feel like you are making a difference.
I do it for the love of helping people.
I generally find health/ body effects of drugs/ diet/ nutrition interesting. I'm not into the money as much as the interest...I like helping people too...The title is kind of overrated in my opinion.
