I have chronic health problems, Rheumatoid Arthritis and a few other problems. Therefore I see a Physiotherapist about twice, perhaps three times a year depending on what mobility problems I am having. I find them excellent, intelligent, willing to help, excellent at giving the right exercise program for the right problem and they even gave me my first hand wax bath last year. Not bad considering I have Arthritis for almost 30 years, better later than never? The Hospital just got the wax bath system installed, but I was the first one to use it. Likewise follow -up ideas, such as Pilate's Course or Aqua Jogging. However and this is the negative side. Physiotherapists assess you and based on the examination, movement, assessment design a certain set of exercises for whatever the problem is. They then show you or walk you through those exercises. Then they will say 'Right I want you to do this exercise everyday, every other day and see you back here in 3 weeks. The emphasis is then on you, the Patient, I always do as they tell me but I know many people who literally cannot be bothered and in that is the problem. They return 3 weeks later and to the shock of the PT, no improvement, health deteriorated, so the PT sends them away. If you the Patient are not willing to adhere to the therapy, well the PT cannot do it for you.
yes good value for money in my book also the Pilate's class and Aqua Jogging good value for money. Good Luck

yes it woked on my shoulder .vfm well yes it was free on the nhs

It was on the NHS so it was free however I found it a waste of time - my back hurt more than it did before I went.

I visited a physio, on the NHS after a car smash, for back injuries. Their exercises were benificial and I still use them 10 years later.
Similarly, after major bowel surgery, they visited me on the ward to give advice on general movement to relieve pain in the early days after the op.

i put my back out before xmas and have had 6 trips to physio, it has been very beneficial to me as i am bback at work. I still ache but at least i have movement. Id still be on my back had it not have been for physio and the exercises they gave me.

yes when i tore my ligaments in my ankle was given really good excercises to strenthen my ankle and it was free on the good old NHS
