Have you ever been given an incorrect medication from a pharmacy?!

Question: I have twice. The first time the pharmacy contacted me just after I returned home after picking up the wrong prescription. I was about to take a trip out of the country so I was glad, I did not leave with the wrong medication.
The second time, (different pharmacy) they told me the medication was not covered by insurance, it was going to cost me $11.00. I said no problem, I'll pick it up in an hour. When I went to pick it up they said it was not covered, and it would cost me $164.
To that I laughed, and said I didn't need it that badly, and they said they would fax the doctor and ask for a replacement, as it did not come in the generic. Then when I called back about the replacement, they said they had made a mistake the medicine cost $11.00. MAKES YOU WONDER IF they were trying to stiff me for extra money, or if they know what they are doing????

I believe it those things have happened to me plenty of times. I use to get my medicine from Walgreen's but after they gave me Prozac instead of zantac i switched but when i called and told them what happened they were very generous about it and brought the new prescription to my house which is a half hour drive from there and my next prescription free. So i would call them raise hell and if it dosen't do any good i would switch pharmacies.

Yes I have. It always was the pharmacy's fault, not the doctor's handwriting. It is best to use one pharmacy so they know what kind of meds you are taking, to check for interactions. I have caught the error before I took any, so it is important to know what you are taking and what it looks like. When in doubt as the pharmacist.
