Eyes open but body is still asleep??!

Question: My boyfriend keeps saying that he is lying with his eyes wide open and he is trying to wake his body up out a sleep but he can't. Can anyone explain this? He knows what is happening but body is still asleep.

Yes, it's called sleep paralysis and it's scary as hell but it's not dangerous. Basically, your awake, but for whatever reason your brain hasn't sent that signal to your body yet. I wish I could tell you why, but I can't.
