I witnessed the so-called "deep clean" of 1 ward in a stroke unit at my local NHS hospital......... several patients had the NOROVIRUS, and the ward was closed to visitors (I was at work there).

The deep-clean consisted of the sinks, floors, handrails and curtain rails being wiped. Not one door handle or patient locker was wiped! Ridiculous, as those are the places where the virus is easily transmitted. The biggest problem, for transmitting bacterium by touch, is the control button in lifts.

The probably have vested interests in the cleaning companies, lining their pockets

The fact that it need one depresses me the most. Instead of spending 57 mil to one clean why dont they just employ proper cleaners again

It beggers belief that we as a society need this! Are we not all suppose the be responsible adults trusting those with our health care to be responsible also.

Do not treat the symptom but sort out the cause of the problem otherwise it willl only return with avengence...the little buggxrs that is.

No I do not trust them. It's all down to common sense and good hygiene practices surely.

Nurses used to be responsible for the cleanliness of their wards and Matron saw to it. ( I'm showing my age)
When in hospital recently the top of my locker was (cleaned) but the cup that had been there for over 6 hrs was not even moved.
Nurses spend too much time on paperwork to oversee the cleaners.

no its a wast of money y don't they go back to in house cleaning the hospitals were a lot cleaner before they went Private if it comes down to money I'm shore it cost a lot more now to employ lots of people that evidently don't no how to do there jobs right and give a very bad name to thous who do as there are lots of good cleaning staff but there are a lot of crap ones to Private don't work
you asked 4 a opinion

Well since the NHS has more managers than doctors and nurses put together they hired more managers last year and nursing numbers dropped I think it will be renamed Operation Deep Pockets!
