My wrist hurts really bad!?!

Question: ok if i move my right wrist forward and back it hurts. i talked to my dad earlier and he said it was probably because i crack my wrist all the time (forward and back)
what do you think it could be? is it broken or fractured? will i have to get surgery?? what will the doctor do?

You may have dislocated your wrist or bruised the tendons. Either way, sounds like swelling in the joint. You could wrap it to immobilize it after a 20 minute soak in warm 'Epsom salts' water. (Follow the soaking directions on the carton.works great!)
I'm reluctant to continue, but I used to do gymnastics and my wrists got injured a lot, sooo,
If it feels better when you pull on your hand (strait out), you could try setting it. Get in a sitting position where you can draw one knee up in front of you. Lace the fingers of both hands together and loop them over your knee. Relax your sore wrist, using your knee as leverage, pull gently but firmly until you feel your wrist bones ease apart just a little. (If there is any pain at all, STOP) Have somebody wrap an ace bandage around it while you keep it separated(no too tight as to cut off circulation). It should ease itself into it's proper position slowly. Keep it wrapped for at least 24 hours.

BTW, the doctor will prolly give a script for anti inflammatory and wrap it to immobilize it for a couple of days.

ouch. go to a doctor !!

erm...I'm guessing it's sprained

u probaly did to much force

If the pain is that bad, go see a doctor.

you may need to just consult a doctor

try not to move to much and relax it and it will proboly feel beter

u may have pulled a tendon or something, cracking joints is not bad for you though if you crack your fingers a lot that can lead to momentary decrease in your grip force...maybe you twisted your wrist some way?

This happened to me, it was horrible. They had to remove my hand and replace it with a kangaroo foot.

IDK
TRY NOT TO POP IT
SEE HOW THAT WORKS OUT FOR U!
BUT U SHOULD STILL GO TO THE DOCTOR
BUT U MIGHT WANNA DO IT NOW BECAUSE IT COULD BE SERIOUS
AND U DON'T WANNA GET AN AMPUTATION DO U?
I WOULDN'T

i think i have had the EXACT same thing. i was really worried about it and it really hurt to pick heavy things up sometimes. i went to physio and they formfitted a wrist restraint to my hand. i had to wear it at night for about 3 weeks and now the pain is 100% gone. it cost about 80$ canadian but it worked!

what are u 5? calm down, did you fall on it? bump it? if so get some ice or cold water on. Or you might be useing the computar 2 much so take a break. If it is preventing you from doing things then go to CVS or other pharmacy and buy a sprain or hand bandage and if it still hurts after a few days then cheak it out with the doctor.

If you can move it without severe pain, it ain't broken, it could be sprain, put it in a splint and take Tylenol. If that doesn't work after a few days, go see a doctor.

Its not broken,I doubt any surgery is needed...ice,heat, advil

I am NOT a doctor...as are many Yahoo Answers participants...but we do (well....most of us anyways) carry a resonance of logic. And that's the best I can offer to helping you here.

I don't think "cracking" your wrist is the cause of the problem---however, doing so may aggravate the situation.

I'd have your doctor check the problem out for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome--a condition common among office people who type a lot; victims also include those dedicated Internet surfers, too.

Found early enough, the condition can be easily treated and cleared.
