I have had pain at the back of my head for 1 year.its there everyday.what could !
Question: my gp said it was tension headache,stress/depression/anxiety.i've tried different types of antidepressant but it only makes the pain worse.i went to see a chiropractic told its a problem with my nervous system.i am currently seing my gp,chiropractic and a counsellor but the pain behind my lower back head remains and its there everyday.i had 2 ct scans and they came back normal.what else could it be coz i've changed diet doing exercise stress relief cds painkillers but nothing helps.

Request an MRI. It shows more detail. My husband had bad headaches and eye aches. It turned out to be a mass of veins and arteries and 2 arteries were ready to be an aneurism which would have killed him. He had brain surgery to remove the mass and he has been fine since 1997 with no headaches.
I get similar headaches in the back of my head. It's caused by Degenerative Disk in my neck. If they did a CAT scan of just your head, I don't know if this would have shown up (if it's the same problem).

i would check out lyme disease..i had the same thing and it scared me a lot..found out i had lyme ..for me it felt kinda like someone was taking and ice pick and digging it in the back and top of my head. i would also get head pressure, like my skull was too small for my brain.
