To the "person" who said that a health care professional's job is not stressful compared to some. Wake up and smell what you're shovelling. I'm a qualified nurse. You obviously have no idea of what stress really is!
I'm honest. I smoke. But I was a smoker before I was a nurse.
In my department of 25 people only one smokes, we do get stressed but most have given up due to seeing the lung/ mouth cancer patients.
My mum is a high ranking nurse and she started smoking at 40 when she got a promotion...
As for the rest of them - when i've been on the ward to see her i'd guess 80% of them smoke... before the ban that was.
I bet they still smoke in the staff room now!
Smoking is the minority. It stinks. Most health care Pro's have given up. There job isn't stressful compared to some.
No longer in theUk but when there 4 years ago out of a ward staff of 30 probably 8 smoked. Probably less than that now they all turned to drink!!!
