When the doc. gives you the ok to walk on our ankle after it's been healed?!
Question: Ok, I broke my ankle 5 weeks ago and next week i think the doc. is going to give me the ok to start walking on it. MY question is will it hurt when I first start to walk on it? Will it break again? im so worried that it will break again.. Please help. Thx. alot..

Do you have a cast on? After 6 weeks in a cast, they will probably give you some other kind of support for a week or so. It will be sore (its not been moved for 6 weeks remember!) and you will probably have to see a physio at least once to get some exercises to strengthen it. As long as you are careful - dont go straight back into any heavy sports/running etc you should be fine.
had the same thing 5 years ago they will likely x-ray it first and if that is okee dokee, then youll be offered a walking cast which is a plastic and velcro contraption that will enable you to build up muscle that you lost in broken leg also it teaches you to walk again no worries and good luck..
