oh my. soak it in hot water for a while. this will loosen up the skin and if you are lucky the splinter will come out. by a while, i mean just before the skin gets pruney. if it doesnt just come out, sterilize a safety pin and pick at it gently. don't leave holes in your skin from overzealous picking while trying to remove it. i find that by pressing your thumb against another finger, the pain is reduced a little. it hurts to press your thumb against the other finger, but while you are performing surgery on yourself it will hurt less. remember- clean it after you get the splinter out and keeeppp ittt clleaaann!!!

Theres a few ways
1. you could leave it there and eventully it will come out by its self but that wont help with the pain and if its very deep under the nail its best to see the doctor.
2.If its not to far under the nail then the way i would do it is to heat a small needle on the tip and pick it out with it, the heat wont hurt it but it may sting trying to get it out but this also depends on how big the splinter is.
Good luck
If all else fails hit it with a hammer.

Squeeze Neosporin under ur nail to help numb it and ask a friend to pull it out...DONT WATCH...if u watch, it'll hurt worst bc u are anticipating the pain b4 it is actually felt...turn ur head and just know that relief is on the way.

Its best not to leave splinter in the skin because although some do eventually come to the surface and are pushed out by the body, some actually become absorbed by the body and are pushed further into the skin. Try and relax, i know it hurts but once you get it out you'll be fine. Fill a sink with some warm water and let your hands soak for about 10 mins to soften the skin. Dry them off properly and then using a safety pin or a sewing pin, gently lift the skin where the splinter is until you can pull the splinter out. Then get a pair of tweezers and pull the splinter out.
