Searing pain behind my eye.?!
Question: hi. i was on a plane recently and had been flying for about an hour when i felt a searing pain behind my right eye.only way i can describe it is like a needle being stuck into the back of my eyeball.pain was excrutiating. the pain eased but it didnt clear completely until 3-4 days later. foolishly i didn't seek medical help. i'm now wondering what this may have been.can anyone tell me what this may have been?i have thought that it may have been a blood vesel bursting because of the air pressure.

Hmm.. did you have blurred vision at all?
It's just my brother had the same kinda pain ( with blurred vision ) a couple of days ago and he went to the hospital as they thought it could have been a detatched retina or something..
But it was called " visual migraine"

I got that once (except in both eyes...) I think it's because of the change in pressure. Were you wearing headphones or anything? I don't think there's much you can do about it, just breathe through your mouth and hope it doesn't happen again. Sorry :)

Easiest thing to do is,go and have your eyes tested.It happened to me and I found out that my eyes were being strained,and after getting glasses,no more problems.
Sounds scary...get yourself checked...its never too late.
