Burstitis in shoulder?!

Question: Im taking anti-inflammitry tablets (mobic), and glucosamine.
I have excerzises my doc gave me which i have been doing for a month. But i forgot to ask him if i should still go swimming . He tought it would be a frozen shoulder and incouraged me to move it by
1. rotating my shoulder with a phone book and moving my fingers up and down the wall.
2. swimming 5 days a week.
But now he has diagnosed it as 'burstitis' i have to have another ultrasound done and and they put a steriod injection in the bone at the same time.
Is swimming still ok to do?

I would just call your doctor up and ask. You still want to keep your shoulder moving so if you don't get ahold of them then it's probably ok to do very moderate swimming. When the shoulder is used a lot the bursa (little fluid filled sacks in your joints to help cushion) gets inflamed and swollen so the harder you work it the worse it feels and gets. But you do need to keep up mobility to make sure your shoulder doesn't freeze.

I think u hav subacromial bursitis. U shud do only gentle movements wid ur shoulder and not swim as swimming strains ur muscles and joints alot. JUst wait till u get better.
