Does a numb finger mean anything?!

Question: When I was at the gym yesterday working out my left ring finger went numb for a few minutes. It startled me because it was my left hand indicating there might be something wrong with my heart. It was only the one finger...it might have meant nothing, but I wanted to see if anyone has had this happen before or knows what could have caused it. Thanks.

I agree, it's likely a pinched or inflamed nerve. When I get a flare up of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome I always get numbness and tingling in my index and middle fingers.

Having it in your ring finger may be a result of improper technique in your work out. If it happens again you should see your doctor for advice.

It could be that the circulation to that one finger was blocked. Was there any pressure applied to any place near that finger. Pressure applied to certain areas of the palm of the hand can cause poor circulation in that area.

Pinched nerve more than likely, if it happens again, keep track of what you were doing when it happened, see if you can figure out what's going on when it happens.

if it happened only that one time i wouldn't be concerned. itif it continues i would go see a doctor u may have a pinched nerve or carpet tunnel on your wrist of that hand. good luck.
