Passing gas?!


Question: Please this is serious no laughing or stereotyping.

I had a salad on saturday and since then I have been passing terrible loud and smelling gas. I don't know how to control it and its embarrassing. Its been 5 days now and it so gross. I am afraid to pick my daughter up for school lately.

Is there anything I can take to get rid of this.

I doubt if it was juat the salad. Have you started eatinf alot more fruit or veg recently?
After xmas, i started eating lots of fruit and veg, and had the same problem for about a week, while my body got used to it!

I doubt it was the salad, because that won't do it to you, have you eaten a lot of meat lately? try eating some ruffage, that might push it out of you... just anythign like htat

Meat, Eggs and Greens generally are a gas producing food.

thinks you might need a few more greens in your diet. Drink heaps, take some peppermint tea as it helps to flush the gas out of your system, hopefully in one big sitting. There is this product available at the chemist called DE-GAS. Try it.

Push real hard and just let it all rip.

Low fat, low sugar yogurt and a supplement called ACIDOPHILUS. It sounds like your intestinal flora (bacteria) is depleted. My suggestion increases the amount of healthy bacteria in your bowels.

If the problem persists everytime you eat raw vegetables, look into enzyme supplements.

Is it close to your monthly? Also could contribute to that gas.

For a quick fix: Go to the drugstore or Walmart and purchase some over the counter gas relief pills and some Milk of Magnesia (cherry flavored doesn't taste so bad). Take a couple of the gas pills now and then before bed drink 2 doses (the dosing cup comes with it, on top of the bottle) of the milk of magnesia. This will produce a laxative effect without cramping in about 2-3 hours, so when you go, any trapped gas that's left will push itself out and go with it. You should feel much better in the morning.
