Anyone who watched television today?!

Question: would possibly have seen an avertisment telling us, that -Cola- would remove a rusted steel nut, that startled me, and left me with the question I wonder what Cola does to our stomachs? do you, think it could cause damage that we are not told about, if this is consumed over a period?

In high school in the 70's a human tooth was put in a test tube of coke and left for public viewing. After something like 4 days the took had completely dissolved. Teeth are mostly calcium which is actually a metal. As far as the stomach goes, to digest food your stomach secretes Hydrochloric Acid, which is why you get stomach ulcers if you eat at very irregular intervals. The Acid will burn a hole in your stomach over time.

put it this way .........the only use i have for cola is to put it down the loo ......it cleans it better than anything else ive come across

thats why it dont pass my lips !!!!!!!!

That statement is true, and it will also remove corrsion from around your car battery terminals.....

You don't have to worry about the effect Coke has on you stomach. Your stomach lining is not affected by coke in any way and it is perfectly safe to drink.

That's an old scare-gimmick. Sure, the acid in cola, or ketchup, or a lot of foods for that matter, can eat through enamel and metal - IF you leave it for long enough!
And our stomach is an acid environment anyway! We produce our own stomach acids much stronger than cola! The mucus membrane protects the stomach.

im in my 30's and i knew that coke brought an old penny back to SPARKLING if left overnight since i was a tot!! ive been drinking coke since before then and my stomach is absolutly fine!!!

Cola will absolutely rot your gut. I had a great uncle who died that way.

Have a Coke and a smile.... it may be your last.

They have been saying this for many years--I heard of this in the 70's. Don't you think they would have pulled it off of the market by now if it was unsafe. Remember, it doesn't sit in our ttomachs all that long. Plus, our stomachs are full of digestive juices (and acids) that would take care of it anyway.

theres a lot that Cola can do. Did you know that it could also eat away at acid that leaks from your car battery? Its because the acid in Cola is stronger than that of the acid in your car battery. They say to always keep some in your trunk in case you need it. Its also said that police use Cola to clean blood off the roads after accidents because the acids in it just eats it up.

However the acids in Cola are not harmful to the human body.

There normally is stronger acid in your stomach than there is in coke. so don't fret

I had an uncle who was killed by cola. a container full fell on him while unloading a ship.

It`s true about the releasing qualities of Cola, I have used it on many occassions and if you put babies milk teeth into a glass of the stuff it will dissolve them.
However the lining of the stomach will prevent any bad effects from drinking it.

i'm certain it must do. i saw a programme yesterday that showed, in a glass how much sugar was in a bottle of cola and it was frightening. i don't know what ingredient in it removes rust but for the sugar content alone why would anyone bother? i'd prefer to have a big glass of milk and spend my calories on chocolate!!!

Beleive me cola does rot your guts and teeth if taken to excess. Everthing in moderation. I clean the brass rings on my cooker by soaking them in cola....come up sparkling just like new.
