What is the cause of headache pain stemming from the back of the neck?!

Question: It's probably caused from stress, more commonly called,"tension" headaches. Try lying on the bed with the back of your neck resting on the headboard. Gently and slowly rock your head from right to left, you are trying to work out the muscles in the back of your neck. Once these loosen up your headache should subside greatly. Also try taking some ibuprofen, since it is a anti-inflammatory. Hope this works Good luck.

idk! when u find out, let me know! lo!

stress, tension, or sleeping with your neck turned in an akward position

I get them all the time. My chiropractor fixes it.

Usually tension/stress. Sometimes straining your neck doing sit-ups/crunches the wrong way. Sometimes a condition called fibromyalgis.

just plan old fashion tension & stress.

Stress is the main cause

For me it's usually stress & tension.
Relax, get a massage and make sure you sleep right.

Alot of times it's stress or Tension headache! I get them all the time, put some heat on it that ususally helps me!

Sounds like stress

could be anything from stess/fever to meningitis. Please consult your dr immediatly if it persists for more than 48 hours.Hope this helps

It could be two things. I could be tension, or the vertebrae in your neck could be out of alignment. A chiropractor can fix that.

Could be the pillow you are using. I switched pillows and my neck felt much better. Just a suggestion, but it is a cheap onne. LOL Hope it helps.

Could be a virus or many things. When I am active one day and the next not so active and I eat too much sugar, I get a headache the day after. Pressure changes in the air can do it. Spinal Meningitis can do it. Could be almost anything. You have to figure out your physical stresses and your environment stresses and figure out what does it to you.

It probably means that you are having poor blood circulation in your neck. Tight neck muscles can also lead to cold hands, back aches, and even headaches. All you have to do is sit up straight so your don't slouch. It should work though.

i read once that 80% of head pain is classified as "mechanical neck pain". It meant that improper movement of your spine could "refer" pain into your head even though there is nothing wrong with your head. Osteopathic or chiropractic manipulation is pretty much the only thing you can have done that improves spinal function. Also...along with spinal problems comes tight muscles...although they are commonly sore and painfull, improving your spine movements will also fix the muscle problem.

" RUBBER-NECKING " totally for real....

This is usually called a tension Headache and is the result of alot of stress in your life and it can also be caused by straining your eyes to look at the screen of your pc or read a book sometimes too if you spend alot of time at your pc looking down your neck experiences tension from being in the same position for long periods of time Take some Tylenol or advil or Ibuprofen and try not to spend so much time on your pc also go to the eye doctor and get your eyes checked and if this persists or worsens go to the doctor as you could have tumors or blood clots on the brain

Dont worry ! also keep your neck very warm at winter time, and have someone pull your skull by the mandibles and neck in a horizontal position... 5 mins a day evening time..

Neck related headaches can be caused from muscle, disc and joint problems. Many related to poor posture.
