sounds like a sleep disorder to me, suggest you discuss a sleep study with your doctor.

I would suggest a regular pattern of sleep. Get to bed the same time each night , if possible, and get up at the same time each day., even on weekends or days you dont have work/school. Drinking caffeine will help you temporarily, however, once the caffine wears off, you will be more tired. Most people do not realize that one can of cola stays in your system for 24 hours. The next day you will feel more tired. Try to avoid caffine (cut it out of your diet all together...which is hard I know), get a regular pattern of sleep, and excersize. I don't mean go run miles, even a short walk for 10 or so minutes should really help you out. It takes a while for your body to adjust to misshapen sleep habits and it also takes a long time to make up for lost rest. If you want to feel more rested and alert in the long run, these suggestions should help. Good luck!

Not much to go on here. A doc could not answer this question without more information. Here goes:

How old are you?
What time to you go to bed?
What time do you get up?
What do you eat in the evening?
When do you exercise?
Do you watch TV or play video games up to bedtime?
Are you nervous or are you worrying about anything?
Do you get up in the middle of the night?

See what I mean?????????

Do not jump to the conclusion you have any kind of disorder.

Since I don't know what the answers to the above are, I will just give you clues on how to get a good night's sleep.

If you are a kid under 10, you need at least 10-12 hours sleep every night because your body is growing at extraordinary speed and it gets exhausted. Getting less than that will make you FEEL exhausted most of the time.

Between 12-16, you will need 8-10 hours every night. Then from 16-18 you may find you need extra sleep because again, you will be going through puberty (if you are a guy) and your body is again growing rapidly.

Go to bed about 12-16 hours after you get up. Without fail!! Do it. Try and keep the same bedtime always, even on the weekends IF YOU HAVE TO GET UP THE NEXT MORNING AT YOUR USUAL TIME. If you stay up on Friday and Sat because you do not have to get up, this is OK, but keep in mind you will have trouble by Monday AM if you don't go to bed by 10 on Sunday nite.....that will be hard if you didn't get up until 10AM sunday cause you stayed up on Saturday nite until 3AM. Get what I mean?????

Never, never eat carbs (pizzas, fast food, chips, big sandwiches, etc, within 2-3 hours of sleeping Carbs will lay on your stomach and digest slowly and will make you feel groggy the next morning.

Take a slow hot shower, or bath just before bed. Do not watch an exciting show on TV, or listen to music that "pumps you up" before going to bed. Music needs to be soothing, not pumping, lights low, warm milk (not cocoa...it has caffeine, and absolutely no colas, tea, coffee unless they are decaffinated)

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, exercise within 2-3 hours of sleeping. Again this pumps your heart/mind up to where you can't sleep even though you are tired. Get it?

The whole idea is to S L O W D O W N, within 2 hours of sleep.....Do your studying after school, not before bed as well.

Good luck Do the above and I guarantee you will be better.
Oh...........also, if you have noise or stress in the house during your sleep time, it will be impossible for you to sleep. All that needs to change. You don't need to be trying to sleep with personal stress on your mind. Take care of that, make some decisions and choices.
